We didn’t know if we were going to make it to Grand Cayman or not. The challenge started in March when our AirBnB cancelled. We quickly found a new and better property on Seven Mile Beach. Then we weren’t sure if Grand Cayman would even be open by Nov 1. In late summer, Grand Cayman announced they would be opening their boarders, eliminating the need for quarantine for vaccinated visitors. We booked our flight, confirmed our AirBnB and arranged for a car. Then BAM! Grand Cayman announced they were pushing back the opening until the beginning of the new year. We could still get in, but we would be in quarantine for 10 days. So that’s where we are right now. In our prison, I mean condo, on Seven Mile Beach, in Grand Cayman under quarantine. We each have a monitoring bracelet and a cell phone that we have to carry around with us from room to room. But the view is amazing, the condo is large, and we get our groceries delivered to our door.
