It’s been over a year now since we sold our home, gave away most of our belongings and started living a “gypsy lifestyle”. Events have not gone as originally planned, but we are actually grateful they have not. We have visited beautiful islands we most likely would not have, met some very warm and interesting people, and sampled delicious local food. And of course we have been able to dive, dive, dive whenever we wanted – until now. Although it has been over a year since the pandemic resulted in the lockdown of many countries and even though the vaccination is now available, the Covid virus is still spreading when people do not adhere to the appropriate protocols. Such is the case on Curacao. People started getting comfortable, new strains were introduced to the island and the number of cases quickly grew to an almost unmanageable number. As a result, the entire island went into lockdown on March 23rd for 2 weeks minimum – which has already been extended to April 15th.
Fortunately we are staying at location with plenty of room and an amazing view. So we will take this time to review our photos and videos, catch up on correspondence and play in a virtual world or two.
