David and I are back in Willemstad and couldn’t be happier. Staying in the West part of Curacao was an “adventure” and we will say the diving was phenomenal, however our stay in the West did lack some of the luxuries we have become accustomed to like hot water, TV channels (YouTube and Netflix don’t count), washing machines that don’t require a water hose to fill, and access to great restaurants. Our newest “home” is on the water close to downtown Willemstad and surrounded by some great restaurants. The Pen is just down the street at the Avila Beach Hotel – within walking distance. After our morning dives, David and I enjoyed a late lunch that included the best cheese balls on the island (IMO). In retrospect, I should have included a shot of the cheeseballs instead of our drinks – but oh well!
