We’ve been focusing on Bachelor’s Beach the last week and were rewarded with thousands of scad being corralled by jack crevalle and horse-eye jacks. They got so thick at one point, I could barely see Leslie! We also saw a school of blue tang working its way through the reef nibbling on coral heads. And, of course, there were the ever present brown chromis. Turles and squid made Leslie happy and I was thrilled to see a king helmet…which has a large shell like a conch, but is a bit rounder.
From a shore dive standpoint, Bachelor’s Beach is on a beautiful sandy beach just below a small ten foot cliff. It’s one of the few true sandy beaches on the island, albeit a bit small. That, in turn, means its also one of the easier entries we’ve used. All in all, we loved the shore diving here. Enjoy the video!
