It’s been two weeks since we returned from Cairns, but I wish we were back there already. Life was easier, albeit more expensive as tourists. The region was warm, the people friendly and the diving spectacular. Luckily, we have tons of pics and video to relive our experiences. Putting those together for this web site affords us the opportunity keep those memories strong. When we return, I should like to revisit Kuranda for a few days.
The aboriginal village in the mountains had a zoo, butterfly farm and a vibrant arts community. While there, we also took a military “duck” through the rainforest and learned about the indigenous plants and animals.
For now, we will make plans for our next trip (Wakatobi or Bonaire) but start thinking strategically about retirement in the land down under.
